The Orchards, Norfolk

Tucked away down a side road, this proposal occupies the back-garden of an existing 1970s bungalow. Our brief was to explore the potential of the site with the local planning authority with a view to creating a residential development in this highly desirable location in Taverham.

We worked closely with the local planning authority, referring to relevant design guides and precedents to develop an appropriate palette of materials and detailing.
Careful orientation of the dwellings offers privacy to all residents as well as views into the mature landscape and private external space in which to take advantage of the secluded setting…the inhabitants of which include slow-worms, bats and great-created newts!
